So...never ever did I think it would be possible to be AS busy as the 9-5 has had me lately....and that i wouldn't be able to blog..but here we are..almost 3 weeks since my last post. In any case, the weekend of Greek-Aussie-Canadian mayhem was fantastic; and, although we spent the majority of the weekend being ill, we still managed to get out and do ONE touristy thing, in addition to birthday and farewell celebrations at Oli's. Photos, as promised:

Frustrations...Pt. 2
Parent frustration #5I'm pretty sure I know what I like in MY apartment, thank you very much. And guess what? You DON'T have to use newspaper to line kitchen drawers, you can use actual drawer-liner *gasp!*; "heavy" and powerful vaccuums will NOT pull the carpet off of the floor it's glued to; a couch that is "heavy" does NOT necessarily make a better couch; and, a chaise with no handles can STILL be comfortable. !@$##%$
Parent frustration #4
Direct quote: "I think by 27 or 28, we'll marry you off, because 30 is too late. You keep saying not before 30, but you won't be able to get married at 30." Apparently, babies must also come before 30, and my education and career are only minor bonuses to my resume of marriageability. I wonder if the whole baby-before-30 thing also includes the baby coming first?

End of another era...
Over the weekend, I received some rather dissapointing news - my home-away-from-home in the Oz, the Wentworth coffee shop I used to work at..is closing down. I shed a small tear and said goodbye to another part of my past. It's a damn good thing that the best parts of that shop - the luvable group of aussies, mexicans and greek boys - are still a part of my life. On a brighter note, they'll be opening a NEW store and I have no idea where, but hopefully another Canuck will stumble upon it during their travels and decide to beg them for a job!Tuesday, July 03, 2007
Frustrations...Pt. 1
Parent frustration #3The ever-increasing need to outdo everyone in the ever-increasing extended family, including sisters and brothers. YOU DON’T LIVE HERE, but you want to buy a house? Within a 2-week period of search and seize? And when sense is talked into, pouting and bitchiness ensue...like it’s MY fault.
Parent frustration #2
Sick...ALL THE TIME. This hurts, that hurts, the Canadian food causes stomach cramps, the water here causes ulcers and the number of stairs in this country forces knee problems to recur. Next to me, I didn’t think it was possible for anyone to be as much of a hypochondriac.
Parent frustration #1
Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to rag on everything I own, do, wear, say and think? So, you don’t like the toothpaste I buy, nor do you like the way I keep my kettle next to my coffeemaker next to my toaster, but you ALSO don’t like my apartment, my city, the people IN my city, or the way I live my life in my city. Thanks.....and why are you here again?
