Update to CNN fumble

They fixed the mistake...so if you click on the link you won't find it. It only took them about 24 hours to realize it...bravo CNN.

Can you say...homeowner?!

I did it!! Yes...part 1 of my 3 C's completed...Condo (Car + Career left to go)! I am the proud owner of my very own condo - tiny though it may be, and a hole in the wall through in through..it's still my first home. The apartment is about 651 square feet, at Yonge & Sheppard just north of downtown Toronto and is an open-concept kinda thing. The building is fabulous...gym, pool, party room, pool room..yoga room..the works. Now I just have to furnish it....I'm accepting donations..so...let's go people...donate to the furnish-Nai's-condo fund!

Here are some pics of the place:

my living room...and real estate agent...

the boudoir....oooo...does this mean i have to break it in?

other half of the boudoir...with my itty bitty closet that will only fit half my wardrobe!

*sigh* how in love are you with those granite countertops??

You will all soon be the victims of a furniture dialogue that will follow in the next few weeks. It is YOUR duty as my friends/aquaintances/stalkers/creepy-ppl-that-read-the-blogs-of-ppl-they-dont-know to help me choose furniture!! I'm not kidding....really....

Soooo I suppose I'm officially a grown-up...in a twisted kind of way. It's scary but cool at the same time...after spending a year as a bum that never wanted to be an adult...its a bit weird! anyways, cheers!

CNN fumbles yet again...

Was reading an article this morning on CNN.com regarding the recent train crash in Cairo that killed 58 people. My prayers are with those that were lost in the tragic accident, and with their families. You can read about it here.

Near the end of the article, the author writes "Families of each victim who died in the crash will receive 5,000 Egyptian pounds (around $28, 570.) The injured will receive 1,000 Egyptian pounds (about $5,750.)."

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it customary to RESEARCH your facts before publishing an article for the world to see? 5,000 Egyptian pounds does not equal $28,570, in either Canadian or American dollars, unless there has been some unforeseen economic boom in the country overnight? The correct amount should read 5,000 Egyptian pounds (about $876 US).

To read a proper article about the accident, written by someone who actually took the extra two seconds to do their homework, read this article instead.

chilli chicken anyone??

Well today marks the day that exactly one-year ago the junky and I had that fateful craving for Chinese food...that let us wandering in the unknown abyss of Surry Hills...

It's amazing how a person's life can be turned upside down.....ending up somewhere you never expected to be...all because of one event or occurance that happened due to some random food craving...i think brown folk have it right..it all comes down to food..

In any case...today just gets me thinking of Sydney...where I was exactly one-year ago today...I can't say I didn't have a blast..but there are certainly days that I wish we hadn't felt like Chinese food that day...and had settled for Thai instead..oh well...so life go....cheers to Bar Cleveland!!
