I am amazon woman..not really..but you get the picture..

Soooo....went camping this weekend...and not just car camping like Ulla Dulla in the Oz...but real hardcore no-showers-or-running-water-lotsabearsandscarycreepycrawlies-camping....left Friday afternoon for a 4-hour drive north to Bruce Peninsula National Park.

As we were driving in...in Nabhan's words..an "ominous" storm was brewing which set back our plans to hike out to our campsite so we ended up having to spend the first night at the family campsite on Cyprus Lake. Was good times...smoked a little shisha...cooked a little sidekicks and sat around the fire while it rained.

The next morning we set out for our 2-hour hike along the cliff-side to our campsite in an area of the park called Storm Haven. It was grueling with our packs adding extra weight, but I gotta say not as grueling as the Spit to Manly bush walk last year...I did however take a little advice from that bush walk with me on this trip...I definately "leaned in to" the uphill climbs... ;o)

After arriving at our campsite, we set up camp and spent the day exploring the area...was a beautiful site...camped right next to the beach and went to sleep with the sound of crashing waves....fetching water from those waves was quite the experience but fun still...during the nite we had an interesting visit from some racoons that scared the living daylights out of me..imagine waking up to a peering face of an animal right in front of you...yah...

Sunday we headed out for a hike from Cyprus Lake out to the Grotto which is an underwater cave...definately one of the coolest things I've ever done...you have to climb through this tiny hole in the cliff to get into the cave...seems scary at first but it opens up once you get through the main part...and its definately worth it...once you're inside you climb into this huge underwater cave that has underwater tunnels and gorgeous warm turqoise water..felt like I was in a scene of Pirates of the Caribbean...was very awesome...

So two days of no showering, drinking water we filtered ourselves from the lake, freezing my a$$ off, and hiking through a cliff-side for four hours all for a camping trip....was it worth it you ask? hell yes....don't know if i'd do it again tho! haha...thanks nabhan for the experience! weeee i'm a nature person...

Wow, it looks really nice there, check out the beach. Did you take these pictures with the digital camera your dad got for you? Or did you get a new one? I think my digital camera is shite now, I need to upgrade it, it's only two years old but still. The zoom's crap. And hey, you might go camping again, because places like that are worth going to visit.
